Valentine's Day 2015: Florals in February

It's here! My first outfit idea for Valentine's Day this year:

For those of you looking for a more casual look this Valentine's Day, a simple skirt and kimono combo could be the perfect answer. This is ideal for anyone heading to a lovely brunch Saturday morning (and by morning I mean 2pm, cause c'mon that's when brunch actually happens) or spending the day out exploring with your Valentine. It's comfy, it's cute, it's 50 shades of pink.

Here I paired a high waisted bright maroon skirt (Brandy Melville) with a loose knit black sweater (American Eagle). This sweater's especially nice because it has a sheer edging that adds a layer of simple sophistication to this ensemble.

A floral kimono (H&M) is a great way to put together a unique V-Day outfit- you've got the soft shades of pink, delicate designs, and the black gives it that extra chic factor. I love wearing kimonos because of how comfortable yet effortlessly fashionable they are. 100% recommend investing in at least one kimono, it really can be worn with everything.

I added a fluffy white scarf (H&M) because 1) it's freakin' freezing out and 2) it maintains the casual nature of this look while adding in a fun new texture.

And of course, who could forget jewelry? I'm wearing one of my favorite bracelets (Francesca's Collection)- the bright maroon gemstones are eye-catching even from a distance and completes the outfit without blending in. I'm also wearing a new watch (Urban Outfitters)- the face is of a world map, which just really adds a whimsical flair.

This is the outfit for visiting parks, going to a sweet cafe, and receiving an oversized bouquet of perfectly pink roses wrapped in matte gold tissue paper...
Hey, a girl's allowed to dream.

Don't forget to swipe on some bright lipstick!
It ties the whole look together and keeps that fun but sweetly romantic vibe going.

I can't wait for you guys to see the rest of my Valentine's Day outfit ideas!
Despite my 100% lack of plans for V-Day, I've got quite a few looks up my sleeves.
And by sleeves I mean I went shopping yesterday and found a whole bunch of cute things that work perfectly with Valentine's Day...

XOXO,

me.
