(H&M white tulle dress, Free People embroidered kimono, DVF sunglasses, Forever 21 red heels)

I really enjoyed the holidays this year. The end of 2013 was a pretty bleak time in my life and I don't think I will ever have a Christmas so sad again. This year I hosted a holiday party for my friends back home and it always makes me happy to know that our friendships have survived so many years (shout out to Clare, my best friend since pre-K).

I also had a lot of fun with my outfits. My go to look for this festive season became tulle dresses with full skirts- I've always wanted to be a ballerina and so I never pass up the chance to dress like one. I alternatively paired my tulle dresses with sequined jackets and loose kimonos, and made a point of wearing my new favorite heels as possible. Red suede with little bows at the toe, I never wanted to take them off! (but I did) (sadly) (because champagne
will convince you to do so) (smh).

And finally, I got to ring in the New Year with my best friends. Usually I end up at church with my parents on New Year's Eve (yes, this is a real thing) (Korean Christians are crazy man) but this year, at the old, old age of 19, I was allowed to celebrate with my friends in the traditional American way: with beer, champagne, and watching the ball drop. My New Year's kiss was a handsome bottle of Smirnoff Mango. To be honest, I'd been dreading NYE a little bit because I was terrified I'd spend the first minute of 2015 being sad and brooding on everything and everyone I'd lost in the past year. I'm thankful that when the clock struck midnight and the ball dropped in Times Square, I was surrounded by all of my closest friends, screaming happily and overwhelmed not by sadness, but with relief and happiness.

I'm really glad it's a new year.
